Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since we removed ba-ba's from Evan's menu items. Since the transition we have had few cries for bottles. The very first breakdown was the first night when Evan had a sippy cup instead of a bottle at bed time, which went horrible. A 30 minute tantrum ensued and then he relented and had his cup of milk. That was it, we went 8 days before he even remembered he missed them when he asked for a ba-ba only to be handed another cup of milk. The absence of bottles has liberated us from 2 things: the occasional midnight feeding and having to clean bottles. Which is WONDERFUL, bottles really are a pain to clean, especially the Airvent bottles we chose to purchase in bulk, there are 5 separate components to disassemble, clean, and reassemble.
Our next obstacle....potty training. Which neither mommy or daddy are looking forward to. We have already purchased Evan's potty, which sings when he has success. However, Evan found out it also sings when you throw the lid off it and stand in the bowl! JOY! The potty training which is to be attempted shortly has me scared for the following reasons:
1. I don't really mind diapers but cleaning out a small bowl just sounds gross.
2. We don't have any room to put another toilet in a minitature hallway of a bathroom, not something you think to look for when househunting.
3. We will be traveling to California in July for my brother's wedding right in the midst of training, so a 9 hour flight and then several hour car rides sounds messy and discouraging.
4. I am not crazy about finding pee on my hardwood floors or in my plants, I had my dad potty train my dog for this reason!
5. My dad won't potty train Evan :(
6. Did I mention it sounds messy & gross?
Evan is pastdue for a few vaccines, we need to take him to the Pediatrician soon to get him caught up. Hopefully, we will find out how tall he is this time!
